We welcome you to set up an appointment with us to discuss your student's needs and goals. Academic and career planning can be very intimidating, it's our goal to make it less stressful and to give you the resources necessary to create a meaningful plan. We also know that sometimes students face obstacles that are hard to cope with; we want you to know that we are here for you in any time of need.

Belief Statements
The counselors at West Wilkes High School believe:
· 1. All students should have access to the school counseling program which considers the needs of our students and prepares them for success in the 21st century
· 2. All students deserve to be treated with dignity and respect
· 3. Using data is important when assisting students with academic planning and when making educational decisions
· 4. Our school counseling program should consider the developmental stages of our students
· 5. School counselors are an integral part of multiple collaborative teams (school, community, family) that are working to ensure student success
· 6. Our role is to create relationships to help families navigate the challenges of high school and prepare for a successful future
· 7. It’s important to take advantage of professional development opportunities that are relevant and meaningful
· 8. In fostering a positive school climate and morale within the school
